Avila Valley Barn is located on Avila Beach Road and is right off of Hwy. 1 south of San Luis Obispo, CA.  This is free to walk through, but if you want to feed the animals, it’s only $1.00 a bag and it’s really fun for the kids! Avila Cow They have goats, chickens, emus, horses, and a cow. They also give hay rides around the farm for a small fee.

This year we were there at Thanksgiving and people were lined up to get the sold out pies they had ordered ahead of time.  I heard they were sooooo delicious that people would gladly wait to get theirs!

There is also a sweets shop with salt water taffy and homemade ice cream and fudge!

Just before you get to the Avila Valley Barn you will see a sign for the Avila Hot Springs.  We’ve never stopped there personally, but I hear it’s a great place to go with the kids, and it looks like lots of fun!
