Visalia Fun Day

Visalia Fun Day

We went to Visalia yesterday to have a fun day. My husband had the day off so he came along.  My daughter and one of my daycare kids came along too.  First we went to the Sports Park on Highway 63, on the north side of Visalia.  If you haven’t been there, it is a great place to spend time with the kids. Three huge play structures and a dancing waters feature will keep your kiddos busy for hours.

After we left the park we went to a new pet shop, (my husband’s choice), but I will spare you the details.  He likes reptiles so I don’t want to bother those of you who are squeamish of such things!

My daughter has taken up my thriftiness and always asks to go the Rescued Treasures Thrift Store on Mooney at Whittendale.  They have a large toy section and she always finds a little plastic animal for her collection.  Yesterday she added a Tapir.

We then went to Adventure Park and played games like skee ball, bowling, and many others.  The kids cashed in their tickets for a hopping chick and some dinosaurs.

Our last stop was Mooney’s Grove.   I love this old park.  They have a lot to offer if you like history.     The historical museum includes a victorian style house, an original school house, many other buildings such as a blacksmith shop, newspaper, and many, many other bulidings and features.  The newest addition is their History of Farm Labor and Agriculture Museum.

There are peacocks roaming free but they mostly stay on the south end of the park.  You have to go over the bridge to find them.  That is where the “End of the Trail” statue is also.

There is a large pond and geese you can feed if you are feeling adventurous.  They are a bit aggressive sometimes.      We had a fine day and enjoyed our time together.  I hope that you can also find fun things to do with your family.

It doesn’t have to cost a lot to have fun!
