Cayucos, CA

 We love Cayucos because it has a wonderful beach, tide pools, pier, little shops and beach front places to stay.  Near the pier there is also a beach front pizza place, and a fire pit where they tell stories and roast marshmallows at night.  The town is dog friendly and even allows you to eat outside at certain restaurants with your dog.  Most of the motels allow dogs and provide designated dog areas.  There is also a no leash beach somewhere south of town.  

It is our favorite place to stay overnight.  We have stayed at many different motel’s here and have never been disappointed.  My family’s favorite are #1 Shoreline Inn and #2 Cayucos Beach Inn.  Shoreline is right on the beach.  These are dog friendly and clean motels (my sensitive nose doesn’t smell dog when we arrive).  They both offer breakfast, I like the food at Cayucos Beach Inn better, but I like being on the beach at Shoreline and the suite seems bigger.  We also stayed at the Seaside motel in the 1990’s and it was clean and nice.
