The Tulare County Museum is located within Mooney’s Grove at 27000 Mooney Blvd. Visalia, CA. Sometimes a gate fee is required (I’ve never seen anyone in the fee booth) but no entrance fee for the museum. There are two large buildings housing exhibits and the grounds have an array of business buildings and a Victorian home, a railroad caboose and more on display. There are about a dozen buildings to look at some of which are two school houses, a blacksmith shop, newspaper building, a jail, and there is two very large shelters covering a very large selection of antique farm equipment. They have the largest Native American basket collection in California as well as artifacts of the pioneer era, agriculture equipment, restored buildings and many other treasures that tell the history of Tulare County.
They recently opened a brand new facility called the History of Farm Labor and Agriculture Museum, where different nationalities are to be represented and their impact on our area and it’s agriculture are observed.
